How your lining gets made

Unshaped, ready to be cast, gunned, rammed or packed directly into the vessel. Many are proven, ready-to-specify formulations; where a process calls for something the standard range doesn’t cover, a custom mix is developed for it. It’s the right approach for a quick patch, an irregular surface, or a repair that can’t wait for a full reline.

A precast shape is decided long before it reaches the vessel, cast off-site and delivered ready to install rather than shaped in place. Many are proven, repeatable designs; others are engineered to a specific vessel’s geometry when nothing standard fits. Either way, it saves time inside a fixed shutdown window.

When nothing in the standard range fits, whether that’s a formulation, a shape, or a mould nobody’s built before, our engineers develop it from the same in-house R&D, thermal analysis and 3D design behind every SRA product. Moulds are designed and 3D printed in-house, up to one cubic metre at a time, so even complex geometry can be cast directly rather than adapted from an existing pattern.

Not everything in a complete lining comes off our own production line, and it doesn’t need to. Where a specialist component is better sourced than manufactured, the supplier is assessed and accredited first, every product is tested by our Technical group, and ongoing audits keep that standard in place for as long as it’s in service.
